At 7am on Monday May 2nd, Peter Chapman and Scott
McCarthy departed the Burgess
Hill Uncovered offices and made the long trip
from Sussex to Leeds by train to pay repects to
the career of the great Lucas Radebe.
A whole host of footballing stars past and present
were taking part, and Chris Kamara was there as
well.
The following is some pictures and information
about the day.
Before the match, we went to the players car park
to see a plethora of stars arrive for the afternoon's
showpiece.
Former
Scotland and Leeds Captain Gary McAllister.
Goalkeeping
legend Bruce Grobbelaar and his wife are shown
the players entrance.
Former
Norway international Gunnar Halle signs autographs
for his legions of female fans.
John
Carew, the Norwegian international striker, formally
of Valencia was one of the big name stars.
Birmingham
City's Mario Melchiot makes his way into the ground.
Leeds
United's Player of the year Neil Sullivan signs
for the fans.
Nigel
Martyn, quite possibly Leeds' greatest ever keeper
was also making a return to Elland Road.
France
and Roma midfielder Olivier Dacourt arrived in
an old Peugeot 306 and recieved lots of lovely
comments regarding his blazer.
Simon
Walton, Leeds' big breakthough talent of the 2004-05
season wasn't involved in the game, but was still
hanging around the ground to lap up the attention
from the many lady fans, both young and old!
